“After a very long 16-months for all of our teams, players and fans, we’re very excited to get to work on our 2021-22 season with the puck dropping on Friday, September 24th.” said GOJHL Commissioner Brent Garbutt.  “Despite it being a few weeks later than normal, we believe this date will allow sufficient time for our players and teams to prepare while maintaining our top priority of their health and safety.”

Once able to shed Return-to-Play Protocols, GOJHL Presidents/Governors approved players 18 years of age and older will once again be provided the opportunity to wear a half face-shield.

The GOJHL also announced its new Board of Directors, with Caledonia’s Scott Miller returning as Chairman and Tim Simmons from London as Vice Chairman.  Niagara Falls’ Frank Pietrangelo, Listowel’s Matt Miller and Pelham’s Tim Toffolo round out the group as Directors.

“On behalf of our 26 member teams, I would like to thank outgoing Board members Kent Coleman and Wayne Long for all of their tireless work and efforts in navigating these unprecedented times,” stated Garbutt.
